Signal Technologies Ltd ("GetSignal", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17154561), with its registered office at 66 Paul Street, London, England, EC2A 4NA, provides GetSignal, a market intelligence mobile app for iOS and Android that lets you follow companies, fund managers, institutional investors, and members of Congress, and receive a personalized feed of their SEC filings, trades, and related market events, with optional push alerts. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the GetSignal mobile app and the getsignal.finance website (together, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: Your email address and authentication identifiers, created and managed through Firebase Authentication (a Google service). Your password is handled and stored by Firebase. GetSignal never sees or stores your raw password.
  • Your follows and preferences: The companies, tickers, funds, and Congress members you follow; your notification rules and settings; and feed state such as which items you have read or hidden.
  • Notifications and device data: If you enable push notifications, we store a push token (via Expo) for your device, along with device type, operating system, and app version needed to deliver alerts.
  • Usage and diagnostics: IP address, device and app identifiers, app version, interactions within the app, timestamps, and error or crash diagnostics.
  • Subscription status: If you start a Signal Pro trial or subscription, our payments partner tells us whether your entitlement is active and when it expires. We never see or store your card details: Apple and Google take the payment and hold the payment method.
  • Communications: Any messages, feedback, or support requests you send us.

What we do NOT collect: GetSignal does not connect to your brokerage, and we do not collect or store your brokerage credentials, bank account numbers, card details, or your personal trading or portfolio holdings. Subscription payments are handled entirely by Apple and Google. The financial information shown in the app, including filings, insider transactions, institutional holdings, and congressional trades, is public market data about third parties (public companies, institutions, and public officials), not data about you.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To build and serve your personalized, pre-loaded feed and entity profiles
  • To deliver push notifications according to the alert rules you configure
  • To create, authenticate, secure, and maintain your account
  • To diagnose technical issues, monitor performance, and improve the Service
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell it.

3. Public Market Data

The filings, trades, holdings, ratings, and events presented in the Service are sourced from public records and third-party market data providers, including SEC EDGAR, Financial Modeling Prep, and Quiver Quantitative. This information concerns public companies, institutional investors, and public officials' statutory disclosures. It is not generated by, and does not describe, GetSignal's users. We present it for informational purposes only (see our Terms of Service) and are not the originator of this data.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with service providers that operate the Service on our behalf, and only as needed:

  • Google Firebase: account authentication
  • Neon: managed PostgreSQL database hosting
  • Cloudflare: application hosting, edge delivery, and security
  • Expo: push notification delivery
  • RevenueCat: subscription management, which tells us whether your Signal Pro entitlement is active
  • Apple App Store and Google Play: app distribution and, where applicable, crash reporting

These providers are bound to protect your data and use it only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose data where required by law, subpoena, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of GetSignal or others; and, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may transfer as part of that transaction (we will notify you of any such change).

5. Push Notifications

Push notifications are optional. If you enable them, we store a device push token to deliver alerts that match the rules you set (event types, followed entities, and importance thresholds). You can disable notifications at any time from within the app or in your device's operating system settings.

6. Storage on Your Device, Cookies and Similar Technologies

The mobile app stores your authentication session and preferences locally on your device so the app loads quickly and keeps you signed in. The getsignal.finance website uses only essential and functional cookies and local storage to maintain your session and remember preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. Data Security

We use industry standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), encrypted storage, and access controls, and we rely on the security programs of Firebase, Neon, and Cloudflare. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes. Anonymised, aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained.

9. International Data Transfers

Signal Technologies Ltd is based in the United Kingdom, and our service providers (including Firebase, Neon, and Cloudflare) process data in the United States and other jurisdictions. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent measures). By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your data to these jurisdictions, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

10. Children's Privacy

GetSignal is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we learn we have collected data from a person under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us data, please contact us.

11. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Delete your personal data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will communicate material changes via the app, email, or a prominent notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
