On October 1, 2026, AbbVie announced late-breaking results from the ongoing Phase 3 Viti-Up-1 and Viti-Up-2 studies of RINVOQ (upadacitinib) 15 mg once daily in non-segmental vitiligo. AbbVie said the results show continued facial and total body repigmentation through week 76.

Among patients who continued on RINVOQ 15 mg in the open-label extension, the share reaching F-VASI 75 rose from week 48 to week 76. In Viti-Up-1, it went from 33.1% to 55.1% among 127 patients at week 76, and in Viti-Up-2 from 27.6% to 47.4% among 137 patients. T-VASI 50 rose from 29.2% to 42.5% in Viti-Up-1 and from 26.2% to 40.1% in Viti-Up-2. These are observed-case analyses.

In a phototherapy substudy, 84 adults who had failed to achieve T-VASI 90 at week 48 were re-randomized to RINVOQ 15 mg alone or with whole-body narrowband ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) phototherapy twice weekly for 28 weeks. All groups improved, with numerically higher repigmentation responses in the combination groups. Among patients who received RINVOQ in the initial placebo-controlled period, F-VASI 75 at week 28 was 37.0% with RINVOQ alone and 59.3% with the combination.

AbbVie said safety results at week 76 and week 28 were consistent with the known safety profile of upadacitinib. AbbVie said that no new safety signals were reported.

RINVOQ is approved in the European Union to treat adult and adolescent patients 12 years and older with non-segmental vitiligo who are candidates for systemic therapy, based on week 48 results versus placebo. Its use in non-segmental vitiligo is under regulatory review by the U.S. FDA.
